The County of San Diego is currently seeking qualified applicants for Civil Engineer and Senior Civil Engineer. The current vacancies are located in Planning & Development Services and the Department of Public Works, however these lists may be used to fill future vacancies.

Qualifications:

CIVIL ENGINEER

Civil Engineers have responsibility for a wide variety of engineering projects or programs and perform complex engineering research. As a project engineer, Civil Engineers may lead groups of professionals and supervise technical staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified applicants must possess current registration by the State of California as a Professional Engineer.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

Senior Civil Engineers are responsible for performing, supervising, and coordinating professional civil or structural engineering work in the field and office. This is a lead/supervisory level job class responsible for managing highly visible and sensitive projects.

Minimum Qualifications: Current registration by the State of California as a Professional Engineer, AND, 1. Two (2) years of post-registration experience performing professional civil or structural engineering work; OR, 2. Two (2) years of experience as a Civil Engineer with the County of San Diego.
