Description:

The role of the Director of Assessment and Taxation is to plan, organize, direct and evaluate the activities of the assessment, appraisal, mapping, tax collection and property management functions for the County as prescribed by Oregon Revised Statute.

Qualifications:

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Broad knowledge of state/local laws and regulations of Assessor’s Office; principles of taxation/tax structure of the county; theories, principles/practices of property appraisal; personnel management and fiscal management.  State of OR Certified Appraiser. Equivalent to a 4-year college education in business administration, economics, or closely related field. At least (6) years’ experience in performing residential/commercial property appraisals, two of which must include supervisory responsibilities.  Must be bondable.
