Description:

The County of Nevada, located in the scenic Sierra Foothills, seeks a Code Enforcement Officer, to receive training in and perform a variety of field and office work in support of the County’s Compliance and Code Enforcement Program; write a variety of inspection reports and make compliance recommendations; issue citations; obtain and execute inspection warrants and present reports and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and frequently appear in courts of law; and perform related work as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include equivalent to completion of twelfth grade, and two years of schooling of formal education, from an accredited college or university, in natural resource management, city and regional planning, environmental studies, criminal justice, police science or related field; or two years performing code enforcement related work consisting of the evaluation or inspection of violations of laws, codes or ordinances in a public agency, or law enforcement agency; or three years of experience in technical planning work, natural resource management (if non-enforcement related work), or performing building inspection activities in a public agency.
