ABOUT THE POSITION: The positions are responsible for supervising a team of Specialists working in LACERA’s Member Services Call Center which provides front-line customer service to LACERA members. Specialists reporting to this supervisor are responsible for providing over the phone front-line service for LACERA members that includes explanations of all retirement plans, plan options, purchases, purchase options, retirement related issues, and resolving any member requests and concerns regarding their retirement benefits. 

Qualifications:

Three (3) years of experience researching, processing and resolving retirement benefit claims and inquiries at the level of Los Angeles County’s class of Retirement Benefits Specialist III or higher.

Graduation from an accredited college or university* with a Bachelor’s degree -AND- two (2) years of experience supervising employees engaged in processing applications for retirement, insurance, or other employee benefits.



LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

PHYSICAL CLASS II – Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.
