The County Budget Director is an Executive Leadership position within the Office of Budget and Analysis, County Executive Office. This position reports directly to County Executive, Jeff Smith.
The County is seeking an exceptional executive who can provide day to day oversight of the Office of Budget and Analysis (OBA) with responsibility for administering, preparing and maintaining the County budget. Someone who can be a thoughtful leader in managing 15 full time employees including the Budget Operations Manager and the Budget and Public Policy Analysts.
Additionally, the Director establishes the policies and procedures for the preparation and maintenance of the County Budget, and directs the analysis, prioritization and/or feasibility studies of all functions with a budgetary impact on the County. The Director evaluates existing programs and policies and initiates actions for improvement; and acts as the liaison in budget areas with other state, county and city budget officers.
Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration or a related field and 4 years recent progressively responsible experience involving the development and maintenance of complex governmental budgets and experience supervising a professional staff.
