Salary:

$125,149 – $152,788/year (32 hours per week).  

Description:

This is a top management position responsible for public health policy development and community health planning. The incumbent plans, organizes directs, and coordinates Health Department programs, enforces local health orders and ordinances pertaining to protection of public health and assesses the community health status. This position reports to the Human Services Agency Director, and is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The incumbent will have overall direction and guidance related to public health matters and advises the Human Services Agency Director and Board of Supervisors on community health issues.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a graduate from a recognized medical school approved by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the AMA with a degree of M.D. and must possess a valid Physician’s and Surgeon’s license issued by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance of the State of California; demonstrates familiarity with the broad range of specific public health programs in California; must possess a California’s driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record; must be able to attend meetings outside of normal working hours and must work on-call to respond to emergency situations during weekends, holidays, and other off hour shifts. A Master’s Degree in Public Health is desirable.
