Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association (CCCERA) is a public, defined benefit retirement plan which provides a fixed, pre-established benefit for employees at retirement. CCCERA is administered by the CCCERA Board of Retirement to provide service retirement, disability, death and survivor benefits for county employees and 16 other participating agencies.

Currently we have an executive management opportunity for a Deputy Chief Executive Officer to be responsible for administering one or more significant internal service functions or services in the overall administration of internal operations, as well as assisting with development of short- and long-term planning, policy development and administration, and enforcement of mandated and CCCERA policies, procedures, rules and regulations. The incumbent will provide oversight to departments assigned to the CEO; be accountable for accomplishing departmental planning and operational goals and objectives within general policy guidelines; providing leadership for CCCERA’s management team and professional staff to adhere to policies established by the Board and the CEO; and interacting directly with the Board, state, county officials and external government, financial institution, actuarial and business leaders.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business or public administration, public policy, finance or a related field and five years of increasingly responsible experience in public agency administration of which at least one year has been with a public/private defined benefit retirement system, including at least two years at a management level. A master’s degree in public administration is preferred.
