Description:

The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Board of Supervisors are announcing a recruitment for the position of Deputy Clerk to the Board II/III. Currently, there is one (1) full-time vacancy in the Marin County Board of Supervisors for the position of Deputy Clerk to the Board II/III.

Reporting to the Assistant Clerk of the Board, the Deputy Clerk to the Board II/III performs a wide variety of responsible and technical office support to the County’s Board of Supervisors’ office.

The Deputy Clerk II performs a variety of administrative tasks, including reception support, and taking appropriate follow-up actions on Board actions. The ideal candidate must have personal and professional integrity; exercise initiative and sound judgment to solve most work problems independently; demonstrate a high degree of tact and discretion; and provide exceptional customer service. As experience is gained, the Deputy Clerk II may take minutes at various official meetings, requiring the ability to use various technologies, including the operation of audio-visual equipment and computer software related to Board meetings and property tax assessment appeals hearings.

The Deputy Clerk III is responsible for taking minutes at meetings and taking appropriate follow-up actions. The Deputy Clerk III will use various technologies, including the operation of audio-visual equipment and computer software, related to management of meetings. The Deputy Clerk III will also be directly involved in the management of the property tax assessment appeals process. The ideal candidate must have personal and professional integrity, as well as demonstrate a high level of initiative, independent judgment and the ability to set priorities and meet critical deadlines. The ideal candidate will be highly competent in the areas of advanced computer skills, be eager to embrace the use of technology and will have experience in taking minutes.

The person hired for this position will be cross-trained in several areas.
