Description:

The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Board of Supervisors are announcing a recruitment for the position of Deputy Clerk to the Board II/III. There are currently two full-time vacancies in the Board of Supervisors which will be filled at the Deputy Clerk to the Board II or III level. Please note, to be considered for the Deputy Clerk to the Board II or Deputy Clerk to the Board III position(s), you must complete a separate application for each level.

As part of a collaborative Clerk of the Board team, this Deputy Clerk to the Board position provides a variety of complex administrative support tasks to the Board of Supervisors and other County Boards and Commissions. Positions on this team are cross-trained in several areas and use various technologies, including audio-visual equipment and computer software to successfully support the management of meetings, tracking of information pertinent to the different work assignments, and maintaining and updating public information.

Depending on the assigned function, Deputy Clerks to the Board may be directly involved in the management of the property tax assessment appeals process, fulfill research requests and provide reception support, take minutes at various official meetings, and take appropriate follow-up actions on Board actions to ensure materials are processed and distributed in accordance with legal requirements and County procedures.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Deputy Clerk II: Equivalent to graduation from High School and three years of full-time clerical or administrative experience, preferably within a public agency.

Deputy Clerk III: Typically, four years of full-time administrative experience, including at least one year of experience performing high-level administrative duties in support of a legislative body, such as the Board of Supervisors, City Council, a Commission or Board of Directors.
