$94,702-$134,451 annually

Description:

A Deputy County Counsel II or III is a journey level class in the Deputy County Counsel series responsible for providing legal counsel to assigned departments, committees, and special districts. This is an “at will” position. The incumbent will serve at the pleasure of the County Counsel.

At this time, Napa County Counsel is seeking desirable candidates with experience working in governmental law; specifically with experience representing public entities in the areas of Human Resources (Employment), Child Welfare Services, and/or Code Enforcement. Experience and interest in litigation is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

Deputy County Counsel II

Experience:

Two years of experience in the practice of law equivalent to that of an Deputy County Counsel I in the Napa County Counsel’s Office.

Education:

Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctorate degree.

Deputy County Counsel III

Experience:

Three years of experience in the practice of law, or two years of experience equivalent to that of an Deputy County Counsel II in the Napa County Counsel’s Office.

Education:

Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctorate degree.
