Description:

Sacramento County is recruiting nationally for a highly experienced, innovative, progressive, and collaborative Deputy County Executive – Social Services. This is an exciting opportunity to direct and organize the activities of the Social Services Agency, including a wide variety of human services. This senior executive position is directly responsible for approximately 5,583 full-time staff in various locations and will oversee a 2017–18 budget of $1.671 billion. The Deputy County Executive oversees the Social Services Agency which includes the departments of Child Support Services; Coroner; Environmental Management; Health Services; Human Assistance; Child, Family, and Adult Services; In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority; Probation; and Public Defender. Conflict Criminal Defender and First 5 Sacramento have a coordinative relationship with the Social Services Agency Administrator.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of executive management experience directing public services organizations and/or 2 or more years of experience with a Sacramento County Social Services Department.
