Salary for the Deputy Director depends on qualifications and is set by the Governor’s Office and includes an excellent benefit package.

The current salary range for the Assistant Deputy Director is up to $128,436 and includes an excellent benefit package, including CalPERS Retirement plan.

Description:

The State of California, Department of General Services offers two exciting opportunities to highly qualified and dynamic professionals: Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director of the Real Estate Services Division. These strategic leaders will oversee the State’s real estate portfolio and manage the State’s ten-year Facility sequencing plan.

• The Deputy Director position is an at-will position appointed by the Governor and reporting to the Director of General Services. Overseeing a $110 million annual operating budget and more than 300 staff, successful candidates will have the ability to ensure the State’s real estate portfolio is cost-effectively managed and closely monitored.
• The Assistant Deputy Director will serve as the State’s real estate services management expert and have full responsibility for day-to-day operations of directing and monitoring the customer service, real estate asset management, project management, design and construction services, and internal support services for the Division. This civil service position reports to the Deputy Director.

Qualifications:

Both positions require a Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of management experience.
