Description:

The California Transportation Commission is looking for a dynamic, talented, and hard-working individual to provide high-level policy advice on legislation and to be the driving force behind the Commission’s annual report to the Legislature.
The Deputy Director is responsible for the development of policy recommendations to the legislature, and acts as the Commission’s principal policy advisor and technical expert on legislative and public affairs issues, and coordinates policies and review related to innovative project finance.

Plan, organize, and direct the work of multi-disciplinary staff
Analyze and develop recommendations for new, pending and enacted legislation, administrative policies, organization, procedures, and practices Integrate the activities of a diverse program to attain common goals Gain the confidence and support of executives with federal, state, region, local government, and the private sector Develop cooperative working relationships with representatives of all levels of government, the public, and the Legislative and Executive Branches Analyze complex problems and recommend effective courses of action Prepare, review and publically present recommendations, reports and other information
