San Luis Obispo County is seeking an experienced, innovative and driven professional for the position of Deputy Director-General Services. This executive level position requires an experienced leader who is committed to meeting the Agency’s vision of “Delivering Excellence to Every Customer.” This is a high profile position that will oversee major capital improvement projects, including the $45M jail expansion project currently underway. The County employs approximately 2,400 full time equivalent positions and has a current annual budget of approximately $470M.
The Deputy Director of General Services is one of five positions reporting to the General Services Agency Director. This position is responsible for delivering superior service in the areas of: Capital and Maintenance Project Management, Building and Facilities Management and Real Property Management. The Deputy Director is responsible for a budget of approximately $21M and will direct approximately 85 full time positions in four operating divisions.
At least five years of increasingly responsible professional level experience in a large organization involving construction project management and/or building facilities management. In addition, a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration or Public Administration is preferred. At least two years of supervisory experience is required.
