$119,101 – $132,350 annually

Description:

Marin County has a leadership opportunity for a Deputy Director of Human Resources – Labor and Employee Relations. The successful candidate will assist the Director of HR by providing day-to-day administrative oversight of the labor and employee relations division with the HR Department and will manage major elements of the division’s operations.
Responsibilities include representing the department with employee organizations, making recommendations on labor contract negotiation goals/objectives, consulting with all levels on matters of labor relations policy, directing the analysis of management and union proposals, and directing the conduct of investigations and resolutions of appeals, grievances and internal/external employment inquiries.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have education/experience equivalent to college graduation with major course work in business or public administration, HR management or a related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional level HR experience. At least 2 of those years must include management/supervisory responsibility. Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, multi-tasking and written/verbal communication skills are essential. J.D. is desirable.
