Description:

Monterey County Resource Management Agency (RMA) is looking for a technically knowledgeable, progressive, innovative land use planning and development administrator to be Deputy Director of Land Use and Community Development. Monterey County has a high quality of life, rich agricultural lands, gentle Mediterranean climate, and varied natural environments.

The Deputy Director reports to the RMA Director and oversees all Land Use and Community Development Division functions including Building Services, Development Services, Environmental Services, Planning Services, Parks Planning, Code Compliance, Permit Center, and Special Programs.

Qualifications:

Requires BA in planning, public or business administration, engineering or related field, and seven years responsible planning or community development experience including managing a major land use planning, building services, redevelopment, or engineering organization for a large public or private entity comparable to Monterey County. MA in a related field or AICP are highly desirable. Ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of laws, rules, regulations and enforcement procedures related to land use and community development.
