The Social Services Agency (SSA) is seeking an experienced Deputy Division Director (Administrative Manager III) with governmental finance expertise to oversee its Financial & Research section. The position ensures appropriate fiscal management and operational integrity of the Agency through budgeting, financial monitoring, strategic financial planning, fiscal analysis and appropriate interfaces between the County financial systems and the county’s eligibility and welfare system (CalWIN). In addition, this section is responsible for caseload projection, trend analysis and other research projects that help the agency identify resource needs as well as developing policies and practices.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance/accounting, public administration, social services, or in a related field and will be a seasoned manager with extensive governmental finance experience that has a firm understanding of local government finances. In addition, the ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership and management skills; demonstrate the ability to manage complex issues; conduct complex financial analyses; collaboratively resolve conflict and achieve time-sensitive results; exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate proven success in making sound business decisions, working with all levels of staff, and partnering with other government and professional entities, businesses and the public.
