$7037-$8547/month (paid over 26 pay periods annually)

Description:

The Deputy Director will be an integral part of the Inyo County Water Department team and has been created to expand and enhance the Department’s critical succession planning objectives. This is a unique and rare career opportunity to participate in writing of the ongoing history for one of the West’s best-known water conflicts through implementation of landmark agreements and Court orders that have foreshadowed water management practices throughout the world.

Qualifications:

A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skills would be:

A degree with major coursework in public administration, water resources planning, land management, environmental, earth or biological science, or closely related, with minimum five years of increasingly responsible experience in water resources or land management, including three years of administrative and supervisory experience; OR a law degree, and current license, in good standing, to practice law in CA, and minimum 5 years of legal practice with at least 3 years in representation of public entities in water resources, env. law, or related, or comparable private sector legal experience.
