The San Mateo County Health System seeks a Director of Administration to provide complex staff assistance to the Chief and Deputy Chief of the Health System. In this leadership role, you will ensure the effective and consistent functioning of the System’s administrative support systems, including our approach to human resources management, union negotiations, payroll processing, facilities management, real property capital projects, security issues, contracts development and approval, and emergency response, among others.
You will work closely with the directors of the 11 Health Systems divisions by providing proactive advice and helping to troubleshoot problems when they arise.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business or Public Administration, Health Care Administration or related field and 4 years of experience performing a wide variety of administrative and managerial duties in a large, complex public agency, including 2 years of experience in a senior-level administrative or management position. Requires a proven decision maker with a strong sense of integrity and excellent problem solving, written/verbal communication, organizational and leadership skills. Master’s degree preferred.
