$136,945 – $167,180/year DOE

Description:

Kern County is searching for a talented and visionary Director of Airports for the Kern County Department of Airports. This position will represent Kern County in all aviation matters by providing strategic vision for the airport, developing key relationships in the industry, creating effective marketing strategies, and directing the overall operation of the Kern County Airports. The position oversees the terminal, operations, maintenance, compliance, safety and administrative activities for the airport. The Director of Airports is appointed by and reports to the 5-member Kern County Board of Supervisors.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Airport Management or a related field
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the operations and management of a Title 14, Part 139 airport
• A demonstrated record of productive relationships with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory agencies, including experience working with State, Federal and FAA Grant Programs
