Description:

The Director of Behavioral Health (Chief Deputy Director – Health Care Services) is responsible for leading, managing, directing and administering BHS programs, functions, budgets and activities and ensuring their compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the policies established by the Director of Health Care Services, the County Administrator, and the Board of Supervisors. The position is an executive-level at-will position in San Joaquin County and receives administrative direction from the Director of Health Care Services.

Qualifications:

Desirable qualifications: Seven years of senior-level management experience in a federal, state or local behavioral health agency, including two years in a diverse community-based behavioral health program. Required qualifications Pattern I: Valid CA licensure as an LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist, or Physician AND graduation from an accredited college with master’s or doctorate degree required for CA licensure as an LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist or Physician. Required qualifications Pattern II: Valid CA licensure as an RN and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse AND graduation from an accredited university with a master’s degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing. Requires valid California driver’s license.
