Description:

The Children and Families Commission of Stanislaus County (Proposition 10) invites qualified candidates who are dedicated to public service and who possess strong administrative, communication, financial, and leadership skills to serve as Director of the Children and Families Commission of Stanislaus County. The incumbent will be responsible for providing management support to the Commission while implementing Commission policies and direction, conducting Commission business while adhering to State law, and administering an approximately $7.2 mil-lion annual budget while overseeing contract services valued at $6M. Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of children and families, respecting and valuing the diversity of Stanislaus County residents, and commitment to the mission of the Commission is essential.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in child development, developmental psychology, public health, social work, sociology, public administration, or related human service areas from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Plus, four years of recent, full-time management experience in the administration of a comprehensive human services or public agency program including budgeting, program development, supervision, and presentations to large groups. Competency in the Spanish language and experience working with commissions or boards is a plus.
