Description:

The Association of California Water Agencies is seeking a new Director of Communications. The Director of Communications provides leadership and directs the Association’s award-winning communications program. A key member of the management team, the Director of Communications develops strategies and programs to support and advance the Association’s policy, legislative and regulatory agenda and to support best communications practices throughout the water industry. This position directs and coordinates all aspects of ACWA’s external and internal communications efforts. The Director of Communications works collaboratively with staff and ACWA members to identify, recommend, develop and implement a wide array of communications strategies, products, services and solutions to advance the Association’s goals and support its members. This position also provides communications support for ACWA events, including its statewide conferences, workshops and briefings.

Qualifications:

Eight years of experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-forprofit or association sector, including five years of management experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in journalism, marketing, public relations; a graduate degree in a related field is desirable.
