Description:

The County of Nevada, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, seeks a Director of Environmental Health to plan, organize and direct the activities of the Environmental Health Department; provide expert professional assistance to the Board of Supervisors and County management staff in all environmental health matters; enforce Federal, State, and County environmental health regulations; and perform related work as required. 

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental health, public health, health science, public administration or related field, and three years of supervisory or management experience in a private or public sector environmental health program. A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in environmental health, public health, health science, public administration, or a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Also requires current California registration as an Environmental Health Specialist, enrollment in the Nevada County Community Leadership Institute with completion within one year of date of hire, and enrollment in the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Senior Executive Credential Program with completion within 2 years of hire date.
