Description:

The Director of Finance is part of the County’s Executive Management Team and will report directly to the County Administrative Officer. The Director of Finance independently plans, manages, and administers all functional areas of the Finance Department ($2.25 million budget; 14 staff), which includes the Auditor-Controller Division and the Treasurer-Tax Collector Division. The ideal candidate will be have knowledge of current trends and issues that affect and influence finance related matters in a public sector environment as well as a record of accomplishments in governmental finance and demonstrated strong financial leadership and management skills. The anticipated salary for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 depending on qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package including CalPERS retirement.

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field and substantial experience in fiscal management, accounting, and/or budget management. A Master’s or CPA license is preferred.
