Description:

Sonoma County (population 490,000) is working diligently to become the healthiest county in California by 2020. The Department of Health Services is comprised of four divisions – Administration; Public Health; Behavioral Health; and Health Policy, Planning and Evaluation. The Department has a FY2014-15 operating budget of $239 million with 590 FTE staff. The Director of Health Services reports to the Board of Supervisors through the County Administrator. 

Qualifications:

Typical education and experience would include a relevant graduate degree and five years of increasingly responsible experience managing a health services organization or a large division of such organization. Must meet the standards contained in the California Administrative Code, Title IX, Section 620. Public sector experience is required. Desire experience with an organization with a similar scope of services, and should have experience with: finance and budgeting; behavioral health programs; actively working with community based organizations; demonstrated success with complex service delivery methods; and insuring compliance with regulatory programs.
