Description:

The County of El Dorado is conducting this recruitment to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the Human Resources Department located in Placerville. This position is an at-will Department Head position appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in working in a management position for a centralized Human Resources Department, with a background in providing subject matter expertise in complex areas of employment law and labor relations for a public entity in California. We are looking for a candidate who has a track record of performing a broad spectrum of core HR functions, preferably for a County. A candidate with strong customer service skills, positive management skills and a history of successful strategic planning and leadership during challenging times is preferred.

Qualifications:

Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in human resource management, public administration, industrial relations, business or closely related field. A Master’s degree in one of the above areas is desirable.

Experience:
Seven (7) years of professional human resource experience with at least three (3) of those years managing a staff within a full service HR environment. Experience in a public agency setting is desirable.
