Annual Potential Cashable Compensation:  $199,534 – $235,845

Description:

San Joaquin County is recruiting for a Director of Human Services Agency. This executive-level at-will position receives direction from the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator. The Director provides administrative oversight and strategic direction for the Human Services Agency and acts in the leadership role of setting administrative policies and priorities for the Agency.  The Human Services Agency has an annual operating budget of $371 million and employs 1,300 individuals.  There are five major operating divisions which consist of Administrative Services, Adult and Community Services, Child Welfare Services, Employment and Youth Services and Income and Maintenance.

The incumbent will be an experienced organizational leader who is an exceptional communicator and masterful at leveraging the technical expertise of internal and external resources.  Candidates should have interpersonal strengths that demonstrate the ability to be fiscally responsible, treat others with respect and dignity, exhibit an ethical and fair philosophy and provide innovative and quality public services.

Qualifications:

Desirable Qualifications

Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, social work, social science, or related field and seven years of senior-level management experience with compreshensive responsibility for a major public social service program.
