Salary: 

$127,545.60 – $155,251.20 Annually

Description:

The Director of Human Services Agency is responsible for the development of strategic and tactical business plans, defines requirements, determines objectives; presents mandated or recommended changes in policy to the County Executive Officer and Board of Supervisors; plans organizes, manages, directs, and supervises the activities, programs, and services of the County Human Services Agency including public assistance, social and employment services, veteran’s services, and support for the Area Agency in Aging, with responsibility for fiscal management, personnel management, program planning and evaluation, public and political relations; to represent Department activities, programs, and services with community organizations and other government agencies; and to do related work as required.
 

Qualifications:

Education:
Master’s degree from a graduate school of social work.

Experience:
Two (2) years as a County Welfare Director III, Assistant Director, or as a Deputy Director or comparable level classes in a California County Welfare Department.

OR

Five (5) years of professional level experience in public or private agency social service program in a supervisory, administrative, executive or consulting capacity. (One year of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the graduate education requirement).

OR

Five (5) years of high level executive or administrative experience in which the person had demonstrated an ability to evaluate, administer and control varied types of programs requiring large expenditures of funds. (A Master’s degree in public administration, political science, anthropology, economics, psychology or sociology may be substituted for the Master’s degree in social work or an additional year of qualifying experience may be substituted for the graduate education requirement).
