Description:

San Luis Obispo County is seeking an experienced, innovative and driven professional for the position of Director of Information Technology. This executive level position requires an experienced leader who is committed to partnering with county departments to meet their technology needs. The Information Technology Director serves at will of the County Administrative Officer. With a budget of approximately $13.5M, the Director will oversee approximately 73.25 full time equivalent positions in multiple operating divisions. This position advises, assists, and is responsible to the County Administrative Officer for the proper and efficient management of the County Information Technology Department.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate shall possess a combination of training, education, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for the successful management of the Information Technology Department. The most competitive candidates will have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, business administration, public administration or a related field and have five years of management experience providing multi-platform information systems services in a multi-departmental organization

The Recruitment Process:

An initial application screening will be conducted during the week of January 5, 2015. Candidates deemed to be the best qualified will be invited to participate in panel interviews, anticipated to be held on January 22, 2015.

It is anticipated that the top candidates will be invited to return January 23, 2015 to give a formal presentation to a stakeholder group and to participate in final interviews.
