Description:

The County of Santa Clara is seeking a proven leader for the position of Director, Office of Veterans Affairs. The Director plans, organizes and directs a program to provide aid and assistance to veterans and their dependents in obtaining the rights and benefits provided by Federal, State and local legislation.

Specifically, this management position is responsible for formulating policies and managing the activities of the Office of Veterans Affairs in providing advocacy, assistance and representation to the county’s significant veteran and retired military member population and their dependents.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology. Three (3) years of full-time experience counseling veterans on a variety of rights and benefits. At least one (1) year of full-time experience in a supervisory role.

Must be an Accredited Representative and must possess a valid California driver’s license upon appointment.
