The incumbent will have the primary responsibility for developing and implementing county policy and activities regarding surface water, ground water and watershed management and for acting as the County’s facilitator and collaborator with various committees, organizations and stakeholders regarding water and natural resources issues.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following: equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Business or Public Administration, Political Science, Engineering, Urban/Regional Planning, Geography, Geology, Hydrology, Water/Natural Resources, Environmental Science/Studies, Agricultural Science or a related field; seven (7) years of program oversight or policy development experience in the following, or closely related, fields: water resource planning/protection; environmental/geological studies; agricultural science; and natural resource planning; and a valid Class ‘C’ Driver’s License issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
