The Position

The Risk Management Division of the County of Sonoma Human Resources Department is seeking a talented, experienced, self-directed professional to lead the team responsible for countywide centralized disability and absence management, return-to-work, reasonable accommodation and interactive process, self-insured workers’ compensation, and long-term disability programs provided to County employees.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to provide a centralized and strategic focus managing the health and productivity of the County’s human resource assets. The primary goal is to maintain the health integrity of County employees by reducing risks associated with lost work productivity through proactive and innovative absence management and return-to-work programs, supporting County goals to provide timely and robust public services to the community, and to engage employee investment in being the Healthiest County in California by the Year 2020.



The successful individual is a creative manager with the vision and energy to design, develop, and implement leave management policies, consistent with State and Federal law, within a changing County workforce.
