Description:

The County of Kings is seeking a proven leader to lead and manage the Kings County Economic Development Corporation and Job Training Office. This executive level at-will position reports directly to the Board of Supervisors. The Economic and Workforce Development Director is responsible for administering all functions and activities of the department’s Employment and Training Division, Economic Development Division, and Fiscal Division; and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Kings County Economic Development Corporation.

Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, economics, social work or a related field.

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible management-level experience, including at least three years of senior level management experience in the planning, implementation and administration of workforce development or economic development programs for a local, state, regional or national entity.

Desirable: Two years of increasingly responsible management level experience in business attraction and retention at a city, county or economic development organization.

License: Possession of a valid, appropriate California driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
