Located in northern California, Contra Costa County covers approximately 733 square miles extending from the northeastern shore of San Francisco Bay east to San Joaquin County. With a population numbering just over 1 million, Contra Costa is among the top ten most populous counties and home to one of the State’s most diverse populations and fastest growing work forces.

The County is seeking a self-initiated individual considered an acknowledged specialist in economic development for the newly created Economic Development Manager position. Politically astute and intuitive, this Manager will be equally adept at developing strategic plans and delivering projects intended to boost the local economy. Persuasive communication skills and ability to present before a variety of audiences are also required. As an experienced collaborator, the successful candidate serves as the County’s liaison to other agencies in the effort to advance economic development opportunities in the region. Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree and 6 years relevant experience, at least 2 as a manager.
