$83,075-$101,005 annual base plus generous benefit package

Description:

The Employment and Economic Development Department (EEDD) Economic Development Director is responsible for leading, managing and administering economic development, business retention and expansion, and other programs of the Economic Development Center. The incumbent will also assist the EEDD Director with employment and training, and may act in the absence of the Director. The incumbent models a strong work ethic and leadership skills, including accountability for oneself and others, and helps assure that all assigned programs and operations are in compliance with state, federal and local requirements, regulations and policies. The Economic Development Director plans, designs, and implements economic development strategies and is a key liaison between public and private sectors and the community, with the goal to increase the economic viability of San Joaquin County.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in public administration, business administration, economics or related field and six years of increasingly responsible experience in the area of economic development, including the financing of small businesses and technical preparation of government-guaranteed lending programs, with at least two years in a managerial position. License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
