Description:

The Emergency Manager is the lead emergency management professional for Lane County, responsible for managing and leading the County’s office of Emergency Management. The Emergency Manager assists and supports all County departments by planning and directing emergency management activities and projects. This position collaborates with public and private sector partners to conduct and coordinate countywide preparedness, response, and recovery activities; and updates and maintains the County’s comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), as well as multi-year training and exercise schedules. This position is located within County Administration, and works under the daily direction of the Assistant Public Works Director.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field, and five years progressively responsible experience related to assigned area, including supervisory experience. Candidates should have strong leadership and management skills; effective written, oral, and communication skills; a strong commitment to diversity and equity; and knowledge of effective planning for emergencies and disasters (both natural and man-made).
