The city of Santa Rosa is currently conducting a recruitment for the position of Employee Relations Manager.

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this assistant department head level position will be responsible for managing the City’s employee/labor relations program, serve as the City’s chief labor negotiator and EEO Officer, and assist the Human Resources Director in the management and administration of other Human Resources Department activities and programs as assigned. The incumbent will have frequent contact with members of the City Council, Executive Management Team, Mid-managers, employee organization representatives, employees, the media, the public and others.

The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day interpretation and implementation of labor agreements and for exercising a high level of professional and technical expertise and good judgment in the analysis of complex employee relations problems that require the formulation of recommendations that often have far-reaching consequences. Additionally, this position will respond to grievances, resolve workplace conflicts, represent the City at meetings and on committees, and act as the Human Resources Director as needed.
