The Kern County Administrator’s Office is recruiting for an Employee Relations Officer to administer the County’s employer-employee relations program and to represent the Board of Supervisors in negotiations with employee representatives. The position is responsible for coordinating management activities preliminary to negotiation and bargaining sessions; conducting negotiations with the employee organizations; implementation of provisions of negotiated agreements adopted by the Board of Supervisors; and administering the County’s employee benefit programs.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in business or public administration with emphasis in labor relations or closely related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of labor relations, management or personnel administration in a capacity which afforded direct participation in the negotiation process and resolution of labor disputes with employee groups. Experience in the public sector is desirable.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
