Monthly Salary: $6,037-$7,341 

Description:

The San Joaquin County General Services Department is recruiting for an Engineer III in their Capital Projects Division.  This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating complex and large scale projects for the Division.  The incumbent will monitor the work of consultants and construction contractors to ensure the work is completed on schedule and as agreed upon. Engineering experience related to civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management is desirable to ensure the candidate pool will possess the necessary skill set required to manage County repair, renovation, and construction projects.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have four years of progressively responsible and varied engineer work at a level equivalent or higher than an Engineer I in San Joaquin County service.  Experience related to architecture, construction management, or related areas, as well as the management of projects involving the repair, renovation, or construction of buildings and related facilities that involved monitoring or overseeing the work of consultants and construction contractors is desirable.  Candidates must also possess a valid certificate as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors or a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.  Possession of valid California driver’s license is also required.
