Engineer III – Capital Projects Administration

The San Joaquin County General Services Department is recruiting for an Engineer III in their Capital Projects Division. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating complex and large scale projects for the Division. The incumbent will monitor the work of consultants and construction contractors to ensure the work is completed on schedule and as agreed upon. Engineering experience related to civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management is desirable to ensure the candidate pool will possess the necessary skill set required to manage County repair, renovation, and construction projects.
Experience related to architecture, construction management, or related areas, as well as the management of projects involving the repair, renovation, or construction of buildings and related facilities that involved monitoring or overseeing the work of consultants and construction contractors to ensure work is completed per project requirements, is desirable.
Minimum qualifications for this position include two years as an Engineer II in San Joaquin County service or four years of progressively responsible and varied engineering work at a level equivalent or higher than Engineer I in San Joaquin County service. Candidates must also possess a valid certificate as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Possession of valid California driver’s license is also required.
