Description:

The San Joaquin County Public Works Department is seeking a strong manager to fill the Engineer V position in its Community Infrastructure Division. The position will plan and organize all engineering-related programs and provide administrative support; prepare and administer budgets for over 100 special districts; develop short and long range goals, objectives and priorities, as well as participate in strategic planning that is consistent with the overall vision of the Department.

An ideal candidate will possess a high level of integrity and strong sense of ethics; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, and a positive attitude; proven ability to effectively manage and build consensus among staff, and to motivate staff and support their professional development.

Qualifications:

This position requires two years as an Engineer IV in San Joaquin County OR two years of experience as a Registered Civil Engineer or Traffic Engineer in an organization performing diversified public works activities.

Must have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology.

Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer or Traffic Engineer as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors; and possession of a valid California driver’s license are required.
