Description:

The Permit and Resource Management Department seeks an Environmental Health Specialist (EHS) with land-use experience to join their team! 

An EHS works with the public to provide information, consultation, and educational services designed to encourage sound sanitary practices. An incumbent will be assigned to provide specific information to the public regarding soils, groundwater, and site information required to permit private sewage systems, land development, and water wells. The position also conducts plan checks and inspections in assigned areas.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess: Land-use development experience, particularly in wells and/or septic systems; the desire for a fast-paced work environment, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task; a high level of professionalism and excellent customer service skills; the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment; good judgment, and the ability to make sound decisions, particularly in compliance situations.

Important Note: The department anticipates filling the vacancy in its Well & Septic Section at the EHS I or EHS II level. If you are interested in applying at both EHS levels, you will need to apply to both of the concurrent recruitments being conducted for these classifications.
