Description:

Senior Accountant will serve as a lead over two technical accounting staff and will play a critical role in day-to-day accounting function. This responsibility includes the approval of payroll for the Department, reconciliation, review and processing of sole source purchasing requests/justifications, as journal entries & transfers. The incumbent will also monitor 11 different budget units, as well as the Department’s Capital Improvement Program fund, & the Development Impact Fee fund, and will be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for units within their purview. Additionally, this role will monitor contracts and engage in contract maintenance, as required.

Qualifications:

The Department desires a seasoned accounting professional with governmental budget experience that is comparable in scope to the responsibility they will assume in the Executive Office, and those in possession of a graduate degree. Candidates with strong supervisory experience in an equivalent accounting setting are highly desired
