$9,626.93 – $11,701.73 per month

Description:

Under general direction of the Finance Director, supervises and manages the activities and day-to-day operations of the Accounting Division of the Finance Department; performs and reviews complex technical accounting and financial management work; participates in the development of policy, goals and objectives and administrative planning; oversees and directs the maintenance of financial and budgetary records; prepares and analyzes financial statements and reports; responsible for investment of City surplus funds; and performs related work as required. This position may act for and serve as the Finance Director, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance or a related field; plus at least five years of professional-level experience in governmental accounting and financial systems including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. Public sector auditing experience, a CPA certification and/or a Master’s degree in business or public administration is desirable and may be substituted for the required experience up to a maximum of one year.

Possession of: Valid California Driver’s License.
