The San Mateo County Libraries is seeking candidates for the position of Financial Services Manager. The Financial Services Manager will plan, organize and direct a variety of significant financial program areas for the library system. The Financial Services Manager will have the unique opportunity to support the Library’s strategic goals by providing strong financial and administrative leadership for the organization.

The San Mateo County Libraries are a Joint Powers Authority comprised of the cities of Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Millbrae, Pacifica, Portola Valley, San Carlos, Woodside and the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County. Named a four star library by Library Journal for the eighth consecutive year, SMCL ranked 2nd in California among similar peer libraries. Serving a population of 270,000 residents, SMCL circulated over 3.4 million items to 2.2 million visitors last year.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have three years of increasingly responsible experience performing a wide variety of administrative, financial, managerial or automation duties in a large, complex agency; knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations applicable to assigned area of responsibility, such as public liability and/or accounting laws, advanced principles and practices of fiscal resource planning, financial administration, including public budgeting and reporting, financial and actuarial forecasting and financial analysis; and an understanding of the basic principles and practices of County-wide operations and its administration and organization.
