Description:

The Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District (CCMVCD) is conducting a national recruitment for an experienced administrator who can lead the District, which serves approximately 1 million residents across a roughly 736-square mile area in Contra Costa County. The position of General Manager is an “at-will” position appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees. With an annual budget of $6.98 million and 33 full-time employees, the General Manager leads the District in its mission to reduce the risk of diseases spread by insects and animals by controlling them in a responsible, environmentally-conscious manner. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in all aspects of organizational leadership along with excellent communication and presentation skills. CCMVCD offers a competitive executive salary and benefits package with a salary range of $145,000 to $175,000 supplemented by an excellent benefits package including membership in Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association.

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree along with 5 years of significant, high-level management experience in a public agency or private sector firm; a Master’s degree and/or PhD is a plus. Experience with scientific applications in entomology, biology, or a related technical field is desirable.
