THE COUNTY OF SONOMA GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT SEEKS A MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL WITH PROVEN LEADERSHIP, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE TO HELP SHAPE THE DEPARTMENT’S FUTURE .

The General Services Department has implemented a phased organizational change intended to streamline the services and reporting structures of its architecture, facility operations, and real estate business units. The General Services Deputy Director will have a significant role providing oversight to this effort, leading staff through the transition, and assisting the Department to achieve the value and operational benefits envisioned from the restructuring.

The Deputy Director reports to the Director of General Services and plans, directs, manages, and provides general oversight to the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Development and Management Unit and assists in formulating and implementing strategic long-range goals in the General Services Department.

Qualifications:

Any combination of education, training, and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities. Normally, this would include a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, finance, accounting, engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field; and five years of progressively responsible experience managing programs in a county general services, public works, or related program area, with at least two years experience supervising staff.
