The annual salary for this position is $123,060 – $157,140 DOQ.


Located in California’s Central Coast region, 130 miles south of San Francisco, San Benito County maintains a rural feel while offering a strong sense of community and historic charm.
The Health and Human Services Agency (H&HSA) provides a wide range of services and programs through the divisions of public health services, environmental health services, EMS, public health programs and a full array of family, children and adult human services.  The Director of H&HSA is appointed by and reports to the County CAO.  The Director will have extensive interaction with the Board of Supervisors and will maintain close and positive working relationships with the County’s Behavioral Health Department, state and federal agencies and community-based organizations.


A background that includes five or more years of management experience in a public or non-profit health and human services agency including program planning, delivery and evaluation, personnel and budget management, and policy development is required.  Education requirements include a Master’s degree in Social Services, Public Health, Public Administration or a closely related field.  California based experience is highly desired but is not required.
