The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services (H&HS) are announcing a recruitment for the position of H&HS Human Resources Analyst. There is currently one full-time, fixed-term vacancy. This fixed-term position is funded through June 30, 2016 and continuation is dependent upon on-going funding.

The Human Resources Analyst is responsible for performing professional human resources services to the department of Health & Human Services. The analyst works closely with department managers, supervisors and employees in the interpretation and application of personnel policies and regulations, counseling managers on human resources procedures and practices, and performing a variety of analytical studies and projects. Depending on the area of assignment, the analyst may prepare and conduct recruitments, perform classification and compensation studies, participate in and support negotiations with County unions and associations, develop and conduct training, provide support to departments in employee performance and conduct and/or generate and analyze complex reports on human resources information.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge/experience in multiple human resources disciplines (i.e., classification/compensation, recruitment, employee and labor relations, training, organizational development, etc.), has excellent analytical ability, and thrives in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, is proactive, and solves problems creatively. In addition, the ideal candidate successfully works within a team environment, working respectfully, collaboratively and developing positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and the public. Public sector experience in human resources functions is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent of one year of experience as a Personnel Analyst I in the County of Marin classified service or the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in professional-level personnel work involving position classification and salary administration and/or recruitment, selection, equal employment opportunity, employee relations, labor relations, training and employment, requiring the use of knowledge and abilities described in the class specification.
